DOSSENA: POCHETTINO PERFECT FIT FOR UNITED

There is an agenda that is currently going viral that Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino is the next and right man for the Manchester United managerial job. The rumors linking Pochettino to the Old Trafford job have been around for quite some time now and it does not look like they will be dying down anytime soon. Even before the appointment of Olé Gunnar Solksjaer as the club’s boss back in the summer transfer window of 2018, Argentine manager Pochettino was mentioned as one of the potential candidates who could be taking up the reigns at the club.

But he was not appointed by the Red Devils chiefs as he was still a Tottenham Hotspur manager at the time. Solksjaer managed United for more than three years but was not able to win any trophy for the club and only came close in last season’s UEFA Europe League campaign as he guided the Red Devils to the final of the competition but a loss to Spanish La Liga club Villarreal on penalties meant that he would be ending his reign as United manager without a single trophy to his name.

During the latter days under Solksjaer, United were performing so woefully on the pitch as the players were believed to be lacking in confidence while the manager was also blamed for bring clueless when it comes to tactics. He was eventually sacked and reports were claiming that United were in talks with Pochettino to become their next manager even though he was already managing French Ligue 1 heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain at the time.

But reports also had it that Pochettino was under fire in France after a set of poor results but no move materialized as he remained in charge of the Paris club. But Dossena believes that he would be the perfect fit at Old Trafford.
