ELIOTT: YOUNG MIDFIELDER PENS NEW DEAL

Liverpool youngster Harvey Elliott has signed a new deal at the club. The young midfielder has signed a new contract at Liverpool thus tying him down to the club until 2027.

Elliott, 19, only signed a new deal at Liverpool last year and his latest contract extension is a reward for his continued development. Recently, Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders talked up the ability of the young Englishman whom he compared to Andres Iniesta. According to Lijnders, his footballing brain is similar to that of Andres Iniesta. Barcelona legend Iniesta is presently on the payroll of Vissel Kobe in the Japanese league. Andres Iniesta is widely regarded as one of the finest players of his generation.

Ex-Fulham and Blackburn Rovers star Elliottis a versatile attacking talent who can play as a winger or as an attacking midfielder. He missed several months of football last season due to a broken leg. Elliott suffered the serious injury during the Premier League clash between hosts Leeds United and Liverpool. Dutchman Pascal Struijk was sent off for Leeds United for the foul that led to the injury sustained by the aforementioned Elliott during the game.

On his new deal, Elliott told the Liverpool website that nothing in this world makes him more happy and more excited than this. He added that it’s nice to always know that he’s going to be at Liverpool for many more years and it’s great that it’s his boyhood club.

Elliott has played three times for the England under-21 team, but he’s yet to make a single appearance for the senior team. He came through the Academy at West London side Fulham before he was signed by Liverpool in 2019. Elliott came on as a substitute against Fulham during the Premier League opener for his team this season, but he could not influence the game which ended in a disappointing 2-2 draw for his team who were away from home.
