As far as almost any Barcelona fan is concerned, when the name Pedro Gonzalez is mentioned, the other player that immediately comes to mind is the club’s legend Andreas Iniesta. Young midfielder Pedro has attracted a lot of comparisons with the club’s former legendary midfielder due to his abilities and football knowledge he shows on the pitch.

Former Spurs Player Insists Scholes Was Better Than Xavi And Iniesta

According to ex-Tottenham player Jamie O’Hara, former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes was a much better player than both Iniesta and Xavi, Barcelona’s greats. O’Hara said both Iniesta and Xavi were great players in their time and also two of the greatest midfielders the football world has ever seen, but that Scholes had an upper hand over both of them as he could do anything.


During his time as a Tottenham player, O’Hara was able to play against Scholes and insisted that the former England midfielder was someone from another planet entirely, insisting that he was not just an ordinary player. Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard was also used to make Paul Scholes comparisons by O’Hara who also added that the now-Rangers manager was equally a phenomenon.

Iniesta on Barcelona

Former Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta believes that his former team needs to invest in new players if they want to win the Champions League in the future. He said that all the European clubs have invested massively in recent seasons but Barcelona has remained the same.

He said that there is a relatively young team at Barcelona but they need to be assisted by some experienced players. He said that for too long the team is relying solely on Lionel Messi as well as Luis Suarez for the goals.

Andres Iniesta Receives A ‘Pasillo’ Honor

Anders Iniesta (11th May 1984) is a Spanish professional football player. He stood for the position of a midfielder in the football team. Barcelona was the team with which he started his career in football. He served Barcelona in club matches from 2004-18 and even played for Vissel Kobe, Japanese club in the year 2018. Iniesta started his international league in 2001, playing for Spain.

It was the ultimate game that he played for Barca on 21st May 2018, at Camp Nou. The crowd displayed their support with a message of “Infinite Iniesta”. He received a “pasillo” (guard of honor) before the match. For the final time, he lined up as a captain for his team alongside with the captain of Sociedad, Asier Illarramendi. He took photographs with some players and one player out of them was Xabi, who had played for one club before the match.  The match started and soon Iniesta took his rhythm in the match. Iniesta received a standing ovation and applause from the whole crowd and even both the team took time to applause him off as an honor for serving the team. Finally, his manager congratulated him and finally, after the final whistle, Iniesta took a round around the pitch with his family members.
